About Attorney Young


A legal career in retirement benefits division

William S. Young is an attorney licensed to practice in Massachusetts.

From 2013 until 2019, Attorney Young was an Associate at the Law Office of Carol E. Nesson, where his practice concentrated on the division of retirement assets in divorce.


He earned his law degree in 2012 from The George Washington University School of Law where here was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, competed on the school’s Client Counseling Team, and trained other law students in negotiation and client counseling. While in law school, he worked in the general counsel’s offices of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Service Employees International Union, and as a legislative aide for the Council of the District of Columbia.  He also volunteered regularly for the District of Columbia Employment Justice Center, assisting people affected by wage-hour abuse and employment discrimination.


Mr. Young completed mediation training in conformity with Rule 8 and the Massachusetts confidentiality statute.


Prior to attending law school, he worked for six years as a high school English and History teacher, and taught remedial adult English composition courses.  He graduated from St. John’s College, Maryland, in 2003.
